A fair number of people – women and men – was present in July, the 9th, during the meeting between the Nigerian Union and the three Tanzanian delegates – Scholastica Haule, Sarah Mwaga and Rahel Msagala.
The event opened with a brief introduction and a presentation of the project followed by the speech of our Tanzanian delegates. The audience was particularly interested into knowing how could Rahel – a former practitioner of FGM/C – carry on the practice or the reason why it is important to work on this topic. Answering the questions, our representatives from Tanzania managed to carry on their testimony once more.
Food first, then ethics, using the words of Amartya Sen. The event ended with characteristic African food.
